To me, tattooing is a form of expression.

I’m Juan Alejandro Trejos, AJ, a Colombian tattoo artist based in Dallas. My work comes from something I genuinely love: creating, interpreting ideas, and transforming them into pieces with their own identity.

I don’t see a tattoo as simply an image on the skin. Behind every piece, there is a creative process, an intention, and most importantly, a person who has trusted me with something they will carry with them.

That’s why every piece matters to me.

I take the time to understand the idea, what we want to represent, and how to translate it into a tattoo while respecting both its meaning and my artistic vision. From the initial design to the final session, I approach every part of the process with the same dedication.

To me, getting tattooed has something ritualistic about it.
There is a moment before, a process of creation, and a final piece that becomes part of you.

That is what I value most about this craft:

Creating art that doesn’t end on a canvas, but continues to live with the person who carries it.
